Holderness & Bourne came to Exhibea with a large, fabric-driven catalog and a site that made product discovery difficult — particularly on mobile, where two-thirds of its sales originate. We rebuilt the store on Shopify Online Store 2.0, redesigned the mobile experience, implemented Algolia-powered predictive search, and restructured merchandising and filtering around how golfers actually shop: by fabric, fit, and occasion.

Rebuilding product discovery around fabric and fit

Technical fabrics are central to the brand and its customers. We implemented suggestive search via Algolia, added filtering by color, fabric type, and material across collection pages, and built a Shop by Fabric pathway on the homepage. Fabric attributes surface directly on product pages, letting customers navigate a deep catalog by the criteria that matter to them.

A mobile experience built for where the revenue is

With two-thirds of transactions on mobile, the mobile experience was treated as the primary experience, not a compression of desktop. A minimalist interface, restructured navigation, and aggressive performance optimization delivered an 18% lift in mobile conversion post-launch.

Merchandising architecture for conversion and gifting

We restructured the homepage around a Best Sellers module and curated seasonal merchandising slots, and built a fully-featured cart with upsell and cross-sell placements. Because gifting is a core purchase driver, gift messaging and guides were integrated at homepage, product page, and cart levels.

Results

  • +18% mobile conversion rate
  • +5.78% average order value on desktop
  • +3.8% average order value on mobile
  • Strengthened wholesale positioning with leading country clubs
“We were originally looking for a branding agency to help achieve our vision. Instead, we found a partner who brought all the eCommerce expertise under one roof — connecting a new online experience to our heritage roots. Exhibea delivered what was promised and beyond.”
